so long Kansas, I am going to Texas the summer!

Well, I completely forgot to blog after I recieved some exciting news about this summer and that is that I got the internship that I applied for in Dallas, Texas!!!!!!! :) The internship is Project Transformation, and I get the opportunity to work with under privillege kids, I am looking forward to this experience. The cool thing is I won't be the only one from my college that will be there, my friends Molly, Kyle, Meeka, Michelle, and hopefully Jessica will be there too, so that should be fun. I am also stoked about meeting new people, I love making friends, because the ones that matter the most you remember for a life time, and I feel like some of the ones that I will meet this summer will be memorable for the rest of my life :)! I've probably said this about a million times, but I am looking forward to this internship because, I need a summer away from home for a while. I love home don't get me wrong, but it'll be nice to get away even longer. After graduation I will have three lovely weeks at home and that'll be nice enough, but then I'll be on my new journey of life to this internship and a hopefully a job somewhere. I am really excited to see what God has in store for me this summer, I hope he opens my eyes to brand new things and shows me things along the way. Don't you worry I hope to be blogging about it this summer, so you all will be updated to all who reads this :)!

On another note: Tuesday, made the mark of there only being 3 more months left of school--CRRRAZY! I can't believe how fast this last semester is going, it always makes me feel so sad. I got so much to get done before graduation, so I better start using my time wisely, because in a blink of an eye it'll be May. I feel like I have no motivation at times to get anything done, but I plan on fixing that and using my time wisely. I also need to enjoy college while I can and make lots and lots of memories too :). I love this place so much and the people here. I have sooo many great friends that I would not trade for the world. They all know who they are. My family is also the best too, they are a great support system :)!

Well, that shall be good for now, I will update you all soon when it's time for a new one. Thanks for listening to me again and take care until next time :)!

WOW!!!!!!!

Wow, it seems like a very long time, since I have written a blog on here. A lot has happened in that time. Well, let’s see for starters I am a senior at SC! That is something I cannot believe. It seems like just yesterday it was my freshman year. My college years have just flown right on past me, crazy right. Also I am no longer an education major for those of you that did not know. I am currently or have been for a quite some time I am a general studies major. My dream has always been to work with kids; I am never giving up on that dream. I love working with kids, it is just an indescribable feeling when I work with them. Currently, I am helping Miss. Christy Rude out at the First Assembly of God Church with Children’s church and we usually have the same five every week. What makes it unique is that there are two different families and siblings that attend. There is a pretty interesting and funny group; we have a good time with them so that helps the Sundays go good. This coming summer, I really hope to do this internship that most people from SC have done. I finally have a free summer that I can actually do it. It’s called Project Transformation and located in Dallas, Texas. I have my phone interview on Tuesday and I am super nervous, everyone keeps telling me I’ll be fine. I am so scared; this is one of the major steps into getting it. God has a plan for it all, if I am supposed to be there this summer I will be. It's all part of his PlAN!! I recently turned twenty-two, and this is an age I was told that would hit me worse than twenty one did. I had a great birthday, had some pretty flowers get delivered and had some great friends take me out for dinner at Montanna Mike’s—YUMMY! Sometimes, I get emotional when I turn a different age because I hate the thought of getting older. Its funny when we’re young we can’t wait to get older, but when we’re older we wish, we were younger again. So, either way it’s a win or lose situation. It hit me like a lightning bolt that’s for sure. It means graduation is around the corner, and then its real world time. AHHHHH! I have no idea what my plans for after graduation are, I still have time but it stinks when people ask me “So, what are you doing after graduation”? And of course, I have no answer yet, because in all honest I really don’t know. I’ve been thinking long and hard about going to Grad school at Emporia State, because they have the recreation emphasis, what I am currently leaning towards with what I can do with my general studies degree. A lot of things have changed in my family recently too. We did move to Wichita this past summer, and now we’re trying to sell our house. We still live in Tribune but had a house in Wichita. My dad just currently got offered a job in Topeka to be a secretary for Brownback as the Secretary of the Health and Environment. Crazy right? They all could not be happier with him, so I am happy for my dad. My sister is officially on the track team for KU. So our family is doing swell. Friends are great, could not be better, and would not trade any of them for the world. I met some new ones this year and they are pretty great too. I must say SC is a great place to be. I will definitely miss this place; it sure has felt like home. So many great memories have been made here and some will never be forgotten. Some can be deleted, but we all know that is not necessary and cannot happen. My last semester of classes are starting out pretty good, not too bad at all and that is the way I like it. Well, that is it for a now I did a great sum up for now, if anyone else would like to know more just let me know! Thank you all to you that read this and hope you have a blessed day.

Reflection

I personally liked reading every day for a certain amount of time and then blogging about it. It was much easier for me to blog about what I had read rather than writing it down on a piece of paper. It was also easier this way, that way if we wanted to read everyone elses in the class to see what they read and get ideas for the next book we want to read, we can read their blog. Doing it in blog form also, helped you stay accountable because, it would keep track of the time and date you would blog each time. It also made it easier to keep track of each blog that you blogged to see how many more you needed too, to get the required amount. I think it was also fun and enjoyable this way because, we could learn a lot about one another and read what others said and how they enjoyed the book they were reading. Some of the ones that I read from people in our class would crack me up. Especially, if they didn't enjoy the book or they did and just the way they talked about the book and what happened in it made me chuckle. Doing it this way has made me really enjoy reading more and more. I know I will do a lot reading this summer because, it's really enjoyable to do and sometimes I get so wrapped up in my reading that I act like I am in the location they are and then I quit reading and come back to reality that I am actually not there, and that I am just in Kansas :)! I read a lot of chick books, I guess is what you could call them. Most of them were, by Nicholas Sparks. I really enjoy his books. Even though most of them always end up sad, there still good too me. I am striving to finish Lady in Waiting this summer. It's a good book and has taught me a lot and it'll be a good bible study book for me this summer, to grow in love and my strengthen my relationship with God :)! This will be good to read during the summer because, I'll get to read whatever I want and I don't have to worry about at thing :)! CHEERS TO READING :D! It's been fun and great, I am sure you'll hear from me this summer, maybe some stuff on books or life in general :)!

the decisions we make..

I just started reading The Choice, by Nicholas Sparks. It's ok so far, I bet it'll get better it's just because, I just started the book and it's starting out kind of slow, but it'll pick up. Travis is the main character is this book and he is pretty interesting to read about. When I read the back of the book to see what this one was about, I became fairly interested because he leaves it kind of questionable and makes you want to read the book to see what happens. Since, the book is called, The Choice, my first assumptions were that he has to make a choice on something that happens in his life. Seems like we makes decisions all the time in our lives. Our first decision is when we wake up in the morning, if we choose to wake up when our alarm goes off or if we choose to push snooze and sleep a little bit more. It could even be about the food we eat, what we decide to eat for lunch if it'll be a healthy choice or not as healthy for us. We are constantly making decisions and choices every day. Most of them can make an impact or effect our lives. There are the good ones we make that will have a good outcome or the ones that we choose that aren't so wise. And then we end up dealing with the consequences of our action from that. I am anxious to see how this book turns up and what the choice is he had to make.

It's over!

Well, I finished Dear John, and I must say I agree with everyone else. I liked the ending of the BOOK over the movie. The ending of the movie made me so disappointed and thought it had a horrible ending. In the book was a completely different story. I thoguht it was very cute too, how it ended. I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone to say what happened incase you all read it. This book was really good, I recommend it to anyone :)! I really enjoy Nicholas Sparks books, so next on my list is "The Choice". I heard it's really good as well so I want to read it. His books always seem to surprise me so, I want to see what this one has to offer. Until next time, when you hear from me :)!

read for about an hour.

What would you do if this happened to you?!?!

I am about to finish Dear John and I had some thoughts in my head after I finished the third to last chapters, before the last chapter of the book. What would you do if you were in this situation, you're in the army for a couple years and then a tragedy makes you come home for a while, and while your home you try to decide if you should go see the love of your life or not? Would you go see them after a couple years? Despite, what happened over those lost years, I think I would at least try and make an effort and go see them, to see how they were doing, and what they've been up too lately. I know, it'd be really hard but if I hadn't seen him for that long of time, I think I'd try and make an effort to go see them despite all what has happened. I don't want to ruin the book, but I will tell you that John goes and visits Savannah! He still loves her, so of course he made the choice to go visit her. During these chapters of the book John, talked about how hard it was to see her because, while she was standing in the barn feeding her horses, it reminded him of how it use to be when they were together. All his feelings for her all started to come back. Man, if I was her when I seen him, I would just run up to him and give him a huge hug and maybe a kiss, ha-ha. I am glad Savannah, wasn't rude she was nice and invited him for dinner and they caught each other up on the lost years. He discovered some new things about her that didn't happen while they were together, that takes place now. I find this a very hard thing to do, that all of a sudden the love of your life comes back into your life, do you drop everything you have going on and go back with them or do you just carry on like natural? Either way, would be tough, I think. I guess, you could say if it's meant to be it'll happen it always finds a way to work itself out. If it does, you know it's true love. stayed tuned for more on the last chapter coming up soon!! It's getting really good, and can't wait to see how it ends to compare it to the ending from the movie. I hope I like the books ending better :)!

Read for at least an hour and half!

choices we make..

John the main character from Dear John, is in the army and he has been serving for couple of years now. In one of the chapters he discusses what army life is like, and how the soldiers in the book reacted to September 11th and the years after that with the war in Iraq. I must admit our soldiers are pretty brave for fighting for our country and freedom. I would be really scared and terrified of doing that, although I know I'd be doing something good for our country. John decides to stay in the army longer and the crew he first started out with, all get to leave. John gets sent a new crew and he talks about how there not the same as his last one and he can't talk these ones as much as he did the other ones. John gets sent home for leave to visit his dad. I am glad that him and his father have gotten a lot closer, and that made me happy that he was was there for him. John had one of the neighbors look after his dad and the house but when John came home the house was a disaster, that upset him and he was wanting to hurt the neighbor lady for not doing her job. He then found out her daughter was sick, and that is why she wasn't helping around as much. I am really proud of John looking after his dad after all they've been through together. His dad wasn't in the best health and shape at all. If my relationship with my father wasn't good, I'd do my best to fix it before it'd be too late. John ended up sending his dad to a nursing home and the best one the town had. I got teary when John had to leave because he told his dad he loved him, and it took a lot of energy out of his father but he said it back. It made me smile too. John is the hero of this book in my eyes :)! He did a wonderful thing for his dad, despite if he liked it or not. He had to do what was best for him, because John had to get back. That was the last time he saw his dad alive :(. I bet that would be really hard to lose a parent. I am not ready for that yet, I love my parents so much, but I know I'll see them again in another life :)!

a different kind of reaction..

As my mom drove out to good o’l Western, Kansas, in six hours we’d be homeward bound. As my mom drove majority of the time. It was nice for my mom to ride home with me, I had someone to talk to, the trip home wasn't so boring, and of course enjoyed one another's company. I took my book out and read, Dear John some more to make the trip go by faster. I've really enjoyed reading this book so far, and I like to pick out the similarities and the differences the book from the movie. I am starting to like the book more, and I love the details, Nicholas Sparks uses. It makes it so real, that you're actually there with them, and I can always get an image of my head of what's being said. John isn't really so close to his dad and his mom is really out of the picture because, she left them. His father is a coin collector, and has collected coins from all over. That facinates me, because I can just imagine going into his den and seeing all this piles of coins every where. I guess, I am just thankful I have a good relationship with both of my parents, and get along with them. I would stop every once in a while when there was a good part and would share it with my mom and tell her how funny, cute or that part was. I read for 2 hours on the way home.

We went to Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday. I usually get car sick from reading in the car when we're in the mountains, but I actually was doing good and didn't get sick at all. Funny thing was that following Sunday at home they were showing, Dear John and although, I've already seen it, I told my mom we have to go so she can see it. Of course, she hated the ending as well, and now she wants to read the book too, :)! I must admit on the way up there I slept but after we picked up my sister, on Tuesday I stayed awake and decided to read soem in my book because, it was getting good and I couldn't seem to put it down. Everytime, we stopped though I'd put it down until we got back in the car again and I'd be back to reading again. I just couldn't put it down it just kept getting better and better. I do must admit I was super jealous of where the book is located, it's based in North Carolina and there are BEACHES!!!!!!! It makes me want to go :)! John was teaching her how to surf, and now it makes me want to learn to do that someday, it'd be a lot of fun! I was doing a lot of awwing throughout the book because, of how John and Savannah's (love) relationship was described. It made me sad in a way because, I am still waiting for that right one in my life to show up, but I know he will it's all about timing, patience, and when God thinks its the right time. I was just jealous of their relationship because, I think it was something I wanted and the way they treated each other it was just really cute :)! I was really mad at John at one time and wanted to slap him. Savannah wants to work with special education kids and when she met John's father she picked up on some things about him and told John what she noticed, and that upset him. He got upset with her that she did that, and walked off, and in the process hurt two people, and she witnessed it and got very upset with him. And of course he didn't care he was angry himself. I don't want to ruin what happens next but I just want to say right now I am really mad and upset with Savannah!! I don't want to spoil anythign for anyone who still wants to read this so, I am not going to say why. I was really mad at her and wanted to stop reading but of course I wanted to keep going and find out what happened some more. I read on and off for about two and half hours.

Disappointed Ending...

So this will be the third time that I've watched the movie before I read the book. I saw Dear John in theatres, in late February and decided that I wanted to read the book because everyone said the movie had a horrible ending compared to the book. So, now I want to see for myself what the ending is like in the book and just to compare the two. I agree though I honestly didn't like the ending at all in the movie. I really love Nicholas Spark's books. This will be my third book that I've read of his. He is a really great author. They always seem to have some sort of twist in them, and that makes them really interesting. I am reading about John's life right now and how his life was then and now before he met Savannah. It's really good so far, I can't seem to put it down. I am really enjoy reading it because, I like comparing the two from the book to the movie, it's funny to spot some of the differences in the two. If I do must say so myself in the movie the guy that played John is really cute, and he's on the cover of the book so I always have a smile on myself when I start to read, and sometimes I even like to pretend that I am Savannah. I am the one he falls in love with. A girl can dream right ;)! I would recommend this book though, it is really good :)! I think you girls, maybe you boys, I don't know would really enjoy this. That is it for now, I'll keep you posted with more later on :)!

Rock Chalk!

I went home just this past weekend, and did some reading. I read some in my Lady in Waiting in the car, as my aunt and I drove six hours towards Western, Kansas. I am still working on becoming the lady, God has made me. In the last chapter I read it talked about wearing a necklace that had these signicant pearls that represented, the things God wants us to be, rather than the negative ones. If we are displaying any of these negative pearls, we are to take them off and add the positive ones to become the one God has made us to be. I am really liking this book a lot, I am learning and getting taught so much by it. It's really making me think about a lot, and making me want to change my ways in certain aspects. I do wish I would've read this either my Freshman year in college or even my Freshman year in HS. I could've done somethings that I've done so much differently. Ohh well, can't change that now. It's still good to read now because, I can still be challenged by the concepts in the book and become the lady, God wants me to be. when I was at home I also stumbled across this book my dad had by his chair and it was called, BILL SELF: At Home in the Phog. I wasn't sure what it was about, but then I started flipping through the pages and noticed it was all about Bill Self, talked about his childhood, college years, and when he took the job at KU! For those of you who don't know this I am a die hard KU fan, as well as my family. I was just sitting on the couch while my sister and I watched a movie and started to read some of this book. I found some interesting facts about Bill Self that I didn't know about. I didn't get to far in it but it was still a fun short read about KU's head basketball coach.

Read for a total of an 1 Hour

Lady of Virtue & Lady of Devotion

I just completed two more chapters in the book, Lady in Waiting. Chapter 4 was about being a Lady of Virtue. This chapter talked about being a woman mostly full of God. That God is using the sands of singleness to make you perfect and complete, and that he is developing pearls of character in your life. It brings up the story of Isaac and Rebekah and how they became about. Rebekah had worked extremely hard for her father, always waited for the right one to come along, and gave all this kindness to everyone around her. Their story is like a perfect ending to a love story, he lifted his eyes, she lifted hers, and when she seen him she was dismounted and was taken off to meet his mother and they were married. With all in God’s timing he’ll send the right one to come along. We just need to give our whole self to him and devote ourselves to him, with all in great timing it’ll happen just as he has planned. We shouldn’t have our hearts set on all these negative things in life, but with good things such as patience, and kindness, other than jealousy, and impurity. I just need to work on being these God expects rather than what he doesn’t like and become a Lady of Virtue.
Chapter 5 was on Lady of Devotion. Just imagine if you have your one and only sister, was getting married and some random lady came up to you and asked when will it be your turn? What do you say? I’m still waiting for the right one to come along? In the book, the author says, “Much too often people view single woman as though she should be pitied rather than envied.” This first half of the chapter reminded me of the movie, 27 Dresses and this is because in the movie Jane’s sister, Tess get’s engaged to her boss who Jane has been in love with ever since she started the job she has, and she has always been a bride’s maid and not a bride. She ends up meeting this guy Kevin, who then does a secretly does a story on her that is read as always a brides maid NEVER a bride. I remember in the movie at her sister’s rehearsal dinner, an elderly lady came up to Jane, and asked her what it was like not being married or engaged yet. When I saw this movie, I totally knew how she felt because, I felt as though my sister was going to be engaged way before I was. But, anything is possible and it is all dealt with the timing of the Lord. I loved this quote that was stated in this chapter,”A lady in waiting has the advantage of being able to develop her love relationship with Christ without the distractions that a husband or families inherently bring to one’s heart.” Our hearts are the key holder to the devotion with God. It’ll all happen and take place when it is supposed to. Read for an 1 hour and 30 minutes.

"Lady in Waiting"--Lady of Diligence & Lady of Faith

The second chapter talks about how to become a lady of diligence. How we single women should use our “single” time more wisely and how we have more control over that time as well as, the choices we can make more than we will be able too. This chapter also talks about how we can get so busy and wrapped up into things that we don’t make time for God. We schedule to make MORE time for him in our busy lives. Of if we have too many commitments, we should learn how to say NO to things, and instead read more into his word or do things that involve around him. Chapter two also discussed how there could be no better time to serve him and the kingdom of heaven, and to take advantage of being single. This is because; once we are married and start a family we won’t have some of the same freedoms as we did when we were single. We should also be good listeners to those around us. Towards the end of the chapter it wanted us to identify with these four characters who we relate to the most, it was between, Jealous Jenny, Prima Donna Paula, Fearful Frances, and Doubting Doris. I went with Doubting Doris is because, I do have faith in believing in what God says about me, and this is because, God has told a few of my friends things about me that they were to share with me and I believe them. I just get shocked and always end up getting teary after they do a certain prayer with me to hear what it was God told them to share with me. JMK states this in the book, “Free Hours, Not wasted by me, using my free time, to serve only Thee, Realizing how temporary free will be never to regret a missed opportunity, for others to be belst, through yielded me

Chapter three was about becoming a “Lady of Faith”. This chapter was very interesting to me because, in the book it said that you should give your whole life to the Lord and then he will reward you when you least expect it. The chapter also had a section in it where it talked about how Ruth met her other husband, Boaz. The significance of his name meant pillar of strength. Ruth had been married before to her first husband, Mahlon which means weak and sickly, which oddly enough he did pass away and then she became a lady of faith and went to the town of Moab and met Boaz. This chapter also says in order to have the eyes of faith, that you must have that spiritual eye wash to remove all the debris that a certain enemy has left in our eyes. If us women that want to become Lady of faith and spend more quality time in the word it is the best eye wash to have “eyes for faith”. I just realized that I need become a lady of faith and deepen my relationship with God more and then with time and patience it will all fall into place. And that I shouldn’t fear during the waiting periods of my life because they are the seeds that are going to be blossoming in the garden of faith. I really liked this quote that was said in the book, “I do know that waiting on God requires the willingness to bear uncertainty, to carry within oneself the unanswered question, lifting the heart to God about it whenever it intrudes upon one’s thoughts.”

Lady in Waiting

I am also reading the book, Lady in Waiting. And it’s basically about being becoming the best for God while waiting for Mr. Right to come along. It is based on the book of Ruth from the Bible.

Liz recommended this book to me and she that I would love this book just as much as she has. And she’s right, I have, I have really started to enjoy it. I did just start it but, I am really starting to like it. It has some really good quotes in the book and I love how you can journal and has a study guide included in the book. The first chapter is on Reckless Abandonment. Basically, talks about how to move your relationship with God on a closer level. By how we can transform into the woman that Ruth was. A good quote that I highlighted while reading says, “A committed single woman must be sensitive to the inevitable challenges she will meet in her attempt to her unselfishly in such a self-serving society.”

I can’t wait to read more into this book, and expand on being God’s best and to become a woman just like Ruth. Who needs a man now when I get to become God’s best. Time will only tell. I am hoping this will take my mind off certain things and becomes more focus and determined in this book. Until next time!

I couldn't sleep--thinking!

I can't believe summer is already almost gone! It is so crazy how fast it flew by again this year! I am ready to be back at school for sure, to see all my friends of course. Not sure, if I'm ready for classes to start just yet though! I do have a huge responsibility when I return on campus though! In our program at school called, "Discipleship" I got told that I was going to be in charge of the "Nuture Committee"! I was so excited, because that is the exact one I wanted. I prayed about it too. I just thought it was well fitted for me because, I enjoy praying, and I enjoy praying over others. As well as sending them to let them now someone is thinking of them, if there not having a good day! I love to see people smile when they receive something in the mail, I feel like it made their day and now they feel loved. I tend to care a lot for others rather than myself. I don't find anything wrong with that, because I would do anything for my friends :)! As I have been sitting here these last few nights alone, I've thought a lot about things. One thing that I've thought a lot on is my love life. I've almost been single for two years--crazy right?! Well, it is but, I am perfectly fine with it now. I just recently told a guy that had feelings for me that I could only be his friend. Of course he was bummed but, I honestly didn't see it working with me being six hours away, and that I needed to concentrate on school. Of course he said it was fine, but I could tell it was eaten him up inside. I decided that I don't need a guy right now to make me happy, I've got my loving relationship with the Lord, an AWESOME family, and AMAZING friends that I wouldn't trade for anything :)! I know I say that a lot but it is so true. I just know that our loving Father will send me the guy I am meant to be with when he is ready in that mean time, I can seek his word, pray, and fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ! I am so very thankful and blessed for all the friends I have, and for the ones to come that I make! It is so true what they say, you find your golden true blue friendships at College. I know I've made quite a few of them. And I think I may just keep them for a lifetime, of course that if that is ok with them? :)!

Psalm 86:15 has really stuck out to me and it says, "But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." It is soo very true! I've been looking up verses for patience lately, because it is exactly what I need right now! I am so looking forward to this school year. It is going to be the best one yet! I just know it! I am so excited, and PUMPED!!!
(Hope I didn't bore all of you once again, and thanks for reading another exciting blog note of mine :)!) Have a wonderful day :)!

You Make Me Want To Be Brave!

This summer turned out better than I expected it too! At the start of the summer I didn't have a job and knew I'd have to be working really hard on my class. Then before I knew it I was helping with summer school, and helping my uncle at his office. Luckily, I received a phone call from the REC and they wanted me to come in to talk to them. I got hired to be one of the REC's assistance for the summer. I knew at the beginning it wouldn't be to much of hard work but, they warned me by fair it'd be stressful. They were right! When Fair time came around I was already ready for it to be over. But, right there and then I knew this would be one of my great experiences during the summer to help me do what I want in the future. It helped that I knew some of the kids already from summer school, so they remembered who I was so that helped out a lot. We had a great turn outs each day for each event which is really good for a small town. Monday we had a WII tournament at the library and while they weren't playing they got to decorate cookies, Tuesday was play day in the park. We made balloon animals and let them play around in the park. Wednesday was supposed to be sidewalk chalk but that got canceled due to the weather in the morning but, that afternoon we had Ultimate Frezbe for the older ones, Thursday we didn't have anything in the morning but, me and my Co worker Kaylaen, set up the mud volley ball pits and got those ready for Saturday, Friday was wallow in the mud, that was quite entertaining. The kids got to make sand castles and we got to judge them, later on that day was sidewalk chalk rescheduled, and the watermelon contest. The watermelon contest was pretty gross some kids kept spitting it out and eatin more it was pretty nasty! The next morning was the last day of fair! All three of us met at my house and worked on the float at 7!! THAT IS WAAAAAAAAAAAY TO EARLY :P!! But, we finished it just in time to ride it in the parade. It was fun I got to ride in the back and hand out coozies! Later on that evening was Mud Volleyball, our last event for fair. That was pretty entertaining as well. Of course, I got a little muddy my sisters bf thought it'd be funny to push me since, I dissed their team for losing. Fair is finally over!!
Sunday my sister, my mom, and I traveled to Denver and went school shopping that was pretty fun. I got some good shirts :)! We saw "Ugly Truth", it was decent kind of had some bad parts but it was pretty funny! Headed back to Tribune on Tuesday. It's crazy to think I'm moving back to SC on the 21st! I am ready to be back to see everyone and have a great year again with all my friends :)! I've had a great summer and have learned a lot.
God has been real good to me this summer, making me learn lots, and did a great thing for my grandma :)! I have made some bad decisions this summer but, I am learning to overcome and make a positive direction towards those! I'm still working on being more patient, even though I've had a few enter into my path, I am not going to let that stop me-I got to make it to my two year mark! Can't believe I'm saying this but, I just don't think I am ready for a relationship yet. I need to finish my schooling and then worry about that kind of stuff. I know when I am in a relationship I tend to not want to concentrate on school and always want to be with him. This way I can concentrate on school, get closer to God, and be with my friends that I know will always be there for me no matter what! I've met some great ones and I wouldn't TRADE THEM FOR ANYTHING :)! I am so blessed to have them in my life. They should know who they are!

I also wanted to add this because, it'll probably be best for me to type it out instead of trying to explain to someone or better yet let it sit inside and make me get all worked up about it. So its been about a month half since she's been gone. I am thankful she's in God's kingdom and now she is looking down on me, my family, and my grandpa every day! I just know when I go back to school it'll hit me pretty hard. I'll have my grandpa to call back at home and tell him things are going great, but it'll be hard cuz I am use to calling her and telling her all this stuff. I can pull through like I have all summer I just know when school starts its going to hit me like a bolt of lightning. I am thankful she is in God's hands to make her not weak anymore but for her to be up there dancing and hooting and hollering just like she wanted ;)! I just miss and love her every day like never before. I am going to leave you with this amazing quote that she gave to all us grandkids. "Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, Live each day as if it were your last!" LOVE YOU ALWAYS GRANDMA MAGGIE :)!

Wow!

Well, its that time again for July session summer school. In the mornings I help with that, afternoon help at my Uncle's Law Office, and by night I help up at the ball diamond! I feel so busy :)! It makes me all so very tired. But, I am glad to be keeping busy than to be doing nothing at all. I really enjoy volunteering and helping with summer school because it makes me that much excited to become a teacher. I usually get hugs from the little girls and it makes me smile. Were doing a unit on "Bee's" this time. It's pretty fun. Next week on Wednesday we get to go out to a bee farm so that shall be fun, and after were all done get to go swimming in the pond I'm sure the kids will love that. I'm helping Mrs. Schmidt in Art. I am really starting to like Art and helping them with all their projects. They made bee hives outta paper machia its really neat. It'll be cool to see how they turn out. I was reading my book that I've been reading for a while (almost finished) and ran across this sentence that gave me an idea, for my nuture committee next year. I am so pumped. I can't wiat to see what us shepard team comes up with. And I sooo can't wait to be back at SC!! It's going to be a great year I can feel it!!! Summer of course is flying on by, like always! Before we all know it, it'll be August and time to move back to school. I tell ya time, does fly by my sister is going to be a senior this year. WOW!! Almost 3 years since I've graduated. JEEPERS, thats crazy!

Othre than that everything is going really well. I'm doing good. Miss all my friends. But, can't wait to see them again and hear all their wonderful stories from the summer. I think that is it for now, I shall write more when the time is right. Thanks to all who reads :)! Hope I didn't bore ya :P!

flying on by...

I can't believe how fast summer flies by. It seems like every year when summer comes along it just zoooms on by and then school is back in session. It is fun to see friends over the summer though. I got to do that last week/weekend. Last wednesday me and my sister, Madison drove down to Wichita and stayed with one of my best friends, Elizabeth for the night. It was good to see her and her family for that brief amount of time, and then it was onto to picking Tyler, my cousin, and another one of my best friends, Molly up the next day. After all the crew was in the car we were set for TEXAS! It seemed like a very long drive, so I passed the time by sleeping. Usually makes the trip go much faster. (my personal opinon) We finally arrived at my cousins house and debated where to eat for supper. I then got ahold of my other good friend Kyle and he met up with us there at the restraunt. Which was really good mexican food. After dinner we headed back to Jens house and we all unpacked and just caught up and talked. The next morning we got up early and went to a water park (which was a total blast). I thought it was much funner, than six flags personally. I love certain roller coasters but, there are some that freak me out. So we spend the afternoon there, then left and came back to the house to get ready for the RANGERS game!!! (which i enclosed a picture of us three from the game). Our seats were pretty much amazing. My cousins had some friends there so we got the hooks up. We had seats in like the suite section. They are really nice. You could see the game pretty good. At the end of the game they ended with a firework show. They were very pretty! Better than the ones back at home I might add!! Driving back home took forever because of the all the traffic from the game so--me, my sister, Molly, and Kyle decided to play the movie quote game to make the trip back to the house go by faster. It was a lot of fun, had some good laughs and good time. Then us three stayed up late again talking! The next morning we got to sleep in a little later. We then went to a Chinese restraunt for lunch then got to go SHOPPING!! We spent our fourth of July evening watching/doing fireworks at the neighbors. We played apples to apples, and taboo with the other kids and it was really fun. This was our last night together so we had a blast! At least, I did I don't know about the other two. We then got up a decent time and had to say our goodbyes to Kyle. I'm so very thankful to be friends with these guys. They've always been there for me when I needed someone most. And we've always had a lot of fun together. I can't wait to see what this year brings. I am hoping lots of more fun memories to come :)! As we drove onto KS! I had such a great time in TX I really wish we could've stayed longer but, oh well always next time! The humidity was the only thing that got me the entire time we were down there.

This week has gone by really fast, and lots of drama has happened. I really would not talk about it on here but it has been hectic these last few days. I really wanted to punch someone in the face to myself feel better about the situation. It's just sad how long you've known this person and that you can no longer trust them at all. The weekend is coming up tomorrow and I decided to play with my team in the all night softball tourney in Leoti! I think its goign to be a great time and think we will do pretty decent. I'm looking forward to it. Along with that helping my mom with her reception shes holding for someone in our backyard.

I've came to a lot of decisions in my life just recently and would like to share with you all that read this. I finally decided to let go of this one guy that thought we had a future together-he claims hes been giving me space to think about things especially with us but I don't believe that anymore. I believe there is someone else out there for me and I'm not giving up and have decided to become more patient than ever. No longer how hard it will be I know I can get through this. Especially, since I have such great friends, and an awesome family. And an amazing realtionship with the Lord! Who has a plan for this all. I just need to wait for the right time for him to bring him to me. So, I just want to thank all of those that have listened to me complain about being single, don't worry you won't have to hear no more. I am giving it all to the Lord and he will give me the right guy when I'm ready. I just need to keep praying and talking and see where that leads me. I hope my grandma has a say in this too. I miss her soo much every day! But, I do know she is looking down on me as well the rest of my family. She will always be my hero in my heart no matter what. I hope to gain that strengthen from her through this. I want to make her proud! :) I think that is about it for now. I will write more when the time is right. :)! I will leave you with this verse: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Lovely days but really HOT!

Why hello all to who is reading this. I thought I’d make myself a blog because some of my other friends made one about their summers so I thought I’d join in on the fun. Even though what I’m doing this summer isn’t as exciting as what they are doing. But, I still have some excitements to share. So far this summer I have been a Crew Leader at Bible School, helped out with summer school-in the Art department, helping my Uncle Charlie at his law office, and also an assistant to the Recreation Department. I’m also taking General Psychology online, and that gets done on July 23rd. Online classes seem so much easier. I like how we can use our books on our tests that make it much easier for me. I’m looking forward to the Fourth of July weekend. Molly and I are making a trip down to Dallas. Kyle is in Dallas for PT. And we decided we’d go visit him and see how he is doing down there and that’d give me and Molly a chance to get out of Kansas, which I can’t wait for. Don’t get me wrong I love Kansas since I’ve grown up here all my life; I just want to get out of the state for a while, Kansas can be boring especially where I’m from HA! And I’ll get to see some family while I’m there so I’m excited for that as well. School doesn’t start till the 26th of August this year so I’ll have a longer summer than some, which is good somewhat but, then again I can’t wait to see all my friends back at school. I have to move back in early on the 21st since I’ll be a third year in Discipleship-we have leadership positions this year. I am head of “Nurture” which is exactly the one I wanted. I did some praying about as well did Ashlee-our Discipleship leader who is AMAZING, decided that I would be fit for this job. I felt as though it would be a good fit for me. I love praying for others, and by giving people cards or note to brighten up their days. It puts a smile to their face as well as mine once they read it, and see who it’s from. I’m anxious to see how my junior year will go. I can’t believe I’m already at junior at SC. It’s so crazy, how fast time flies by. One minute you are in kindergarten the next you’re in junior high, the next your finally graduating from High School. And then finally you’re off to college, going on to the next step in life. I’m so thankful and blessed for such great friends that I’ve met so far at SC; I wouldn’t trade them for anyone else they are all a great bunch of people and each of them have own special kick and makes them awesome good friends.
